Cousin of The Game Files Police Report over His Sister’s Funeral Costs
8-Jul-2008
Written by: Steve Ruback

Hip-hop artist has yet to comment about incident or police report.

Robert Kirkwood has filed a police report against his cousin, West Coast hip-hop artist The Game, over an allegation that the rapper has failed to deliver on a promise to provide a financial contribution of $7,000 for the funeral services of Kirkwood’s sister.

Kirkwood is claiming that The Game promised him that he would help pay for the expenses of his sister’s funeral, according to SOHH.com. However, The Game immediately changed his phone number and intentionally remained out of contact with him in order to prevent from having to deliver on his promise, according to Kirkwood.

The Game made an appearance at his sister’s funeral last Saturday, much to Kirkwood’s surprise and even provided a speech, which reportedly emphasized the importance of family values.

SOHH.com is reporting that Kirkwood asked Game about the financial promise that had been made, during the funeral ceremony, which led to a brief, heated verbal altercation between the two and ultimately resulted in The Game punching Kirkwood in the face.

The authorities are investigating the situation further in order to determine whether or not charges will be pressed against the West Coast artist.
