Clinton and Obama Fundraise Together During "Women for Obama" Event
Former opponents throughout the Democratic primary season, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, made a public appearance together earlier this morning at a "Women for Obama" event, according to the New York Times.
The two prominent political figures are trying to raise as much money as they can to not only help Clinton pay off her massive campaign debt, but also to support Obama's upcoming campaign for the general election.
The former First Lady even managed to provide humor to the event by making a sarcastic remark about how rested she currently is after having conceded from the Democratic Party's presidential race.
During her speech, Senator Clinton attempted to encourage female voters who once gave her their undying loyalty to rally behind Senator Obama in order to ensure that the Democratic Party's presidential nominee is victorious in the general election.
Clinton told the predominantly female crowd earlier today, "Anyone who voted for me has so much in common with those who voted for Barack and it is critical that we join forces, because the Democratic Party is a family, sometimes a dysfunctional family, but it is a family and we care about what's going to happen."
