Former Clinton Campaign Director Dismisses VP Rumors
Rampant speculation has swirled throughout the political media in recent weeks about whether or not Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama is considering his former opponent from the Democratic primaries, Senator Hillary Clinton, to be his running mate in the upcoming general election.
However, Howard Wolfson, Clinton's former campaign communications director, announced on Fox News yesterday that he was unaware of any official effort on the part of Obama that indicated his campaign was taking the former First Lady into serious consideration to be his Vice President.
Clinton's former communications director mentioned during the interview her qualifications that have been in the public spotlight for quite some time, which could potentially appeal to Obama.
Wolfson told Fox News, "She ran for president for 18 months and every news organization in America had multiple teams of reporters look at all aspects at her career and her biography. So there's a lot of information out about her that I know Senator Obama is privy too, that may be sufficient for him to make whatever decision he wants to make."
