Written by: Phillecia Cochran
The stage adaptation of 1986’s “The Fly” will premiere in Los Angeles in September.
After a debut in Paris in early July, the opera production of the 1986 sci-fi thriller, The Fly, will come to America later this year.
According to the New York Times, the 2 hour and 20 minute production was received well by its premiere audience in Paris at the Théâtre du Châtelet. After less than half a dozen performances in Paris, the production will move to the Los Angeles Opera in September where there will be six more performances.
The stage version brings back the original director, David Cronenberg, as well as the film’s composer, Howard Shore. The production also stars Daniel Okulitch as scientist Seth Brundle, a role previously played by Jeff Goldblum.
