Jack Black to “Rock” in Sequel to 2003 Film

Jack Black and others from the 2003 film “School of Rock” are said to be reprising their roles for a sequel.
According to Variety, Paramount Pictures has given the green light for a School of Rock sequel.
Jack Black is said to be reprising his 2003 role as Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star who poses as a substitute teacher and gets his students to enlist in a battle of the bands competition. Also returning for the Rock sequel is writer Mike White, producer Scott Rudin, and director Richard Linklater.
In the sequel, tentatively titled School of Rock 2: America Rocks, Finn goes on a cross-country road trip with a group of summer school students. During the trip, Finn teaches the kids about the history of rock and roll and examines the roots of various genres of music.
Producer Scott Rudin recently worked on Oscar-winning films No Country for Old Men, and There Will Be Blood.
