Former Memphis star point guard, current Chicago Bull pleads guilty today.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, who was the first overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft, plead guilty earlier today to committing a speeding violation in Kane County court.
The former Memphis University point guard plead guilty to allegations that he had been driving over 100 mph in a location with a 65 mph speed limit.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the incident that led to Rose receiving a $1,000 fine as well as six months of court supervision occurred approximately three months ago on April 29, on Interstate Highway 88.
Rose miraculously guided the Memphis Tigers to the National Championship game as a freshman in 2007, though his team squandered a double-digit lead in the final minutes of the game and eventually lost to the Kansas Jayhawks.
Rose received numerous postseason awards for his performance in the NCAA tournament, including a spot on the NCAA All-Final Four Team. He was selected by the historic Chicago Bulls franchise with the first overall selection back on June 26.
