Wood of Rolling Stones Admitted to Rehab
16-Jul-2008
Written by: Marshall Burns

Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones was admitted to rehab.

Ronnie Wood, guitarist for the Rolling Stones, has been admitted to rehab, reported the BBC. A spokeswoman for the star confirmed that Wood is “seeking help” with his battle with alcohol in a rehabilitation center.

His entry into the center comes after the tabloids have been speculating over the state of Wood’s 23-year marriage to former model Jo Wood, according to BBC. His spokeswoman told the British newspaper, “Following Ronnie’s continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab. His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery.”

The 61-year-old has been battling with addictions for most of his career. In 2002, he was checked into a clinic to undergo treatment. His addiction to cocaine put him in the hospital in 1975 to have a plastic septum inserted into his nose.

After beginning his career with Rod Stewart’s The Faces, he moved on to the Stones. His former band only last week confirmed that the band was considering a reunion for the surviving members.

Wood is not only known for the world famous band, he’s also known for his painting, reported BBC. Jo Wood is Ronnie Wood’s second wife. The relationship between the two has been branded as one of the longest relationships in the rock world.
