Video of Brolin and Wright's Bar Brawl Arrest in Police Hands
As rumors circulate about what really happened at the bar brawl where actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright were arrested, the police say they have several videos of the events.
A grainy cell phone video of the arrest has been said to circulate, but now, Shreveport, La. police say they also have patrol car videos and audio from officers' microphones to aid in the investigation.
Police Chief Henry Whitehorn told the Times of Shreveport that they are reviewing the case. The city prosecutor's office will then decide whether to proceed with charges. He declined to comment on what the videos showed.
Celebrating the completing of new Oliver Stone picture W., about President Bush and his cabinet, the cast and crew was out on the town last week when someone called the police about a disturbance caused by an intoxicated crew member at a local bar.
What happened next is still unclear. Unconfirmed rumors have since circulated that the police used pepper spray on Brolin and Wright after they refused to cooperate. Allegations of racism have even begun to circulate, with witnesses claiming to TMV that police used tasers on Wright, an African-American, as he lay on the ground, and used racial slurs. Brolin, these witnesses report, was trying to mediate the situation. In addition to Brolin and Wright, five crew members were arrested.
