22-Year-Old Mother Charged with Child Neglect

According to USA Today, 22-year-old Casey Anthony is being charged by the authorities with child neglect and lying to police after failing to report that her 2-year-old daughter had disappeared five weeks ago.

Anthony claimed to investigators that she had left her daughter, 2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony, at an apartment complex in Orlando with a babysitter that she knew. However, her story has been proven to be false because Caylee Marie has tragically not been seen in over a month.

Detectives have come to the conclusion that the apartment Anthony claims her daughter was residing at with the alleged babysitter, who claims she does not know the 22-year-old mother, has been vacant for over four months.

A hearing took place this morning in which Judge John Jordan scolded Anthony, telling the irresponsible mother, "You left your 2-year-old child with a person who does not exist at an apartment you cannot identify and you lied to your parents about your child's whereabouts. You cared so little about your child."
