Leno Says He’s “Done” with NBC
17-Jul-2008
Written by: Marques Camp

Could Leno and Kimmel team up in 2009?

Jay Leno, the long-time host of NBC's Tonight Show, who is scheduled to leave the show in 2009, says that he is finished with the network for good, USA Today reports.

In an interview with the newspaper, Leno said, “I am definitely done next year -- with NBC.”

Conan O'Brien, who hosts his own show directly after Leno on NBC's schedule, is set to take over the Tonight Show once Leno leaves.

Kansas City Star critic Aaron Barnhart says that a move to ABC, which would team Leno up with Jimmy Kimmel, is likely, according to his sources.

ABC President Stephen McPherson addressed the possibility of a Leno-Kimmel duo on Monday, saying that he can't believe NBC would let Leno go “at the top of his game.” McPherson also said that Kimmel would be involved in any discussions to bring Leno over to ABC, if and when any discussions take place.
