Women crowded the Macy’s at Pleasanton’s Stoneridge Shopping Center on Thursday for a chance to meet Sarah Jessica Parker.
Hundreds gathered at the Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton, CA on Thursday as they waited to meet Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker.
The crowds of women, lightly peppered with the occasional man, waited anxiously yesterday in the Macy’s at Stoneridge Shopping Center for the star of HBO’s hit series Sex and the City to appear.
Parker was in town to promote Lovely, one of her fragrances, and to meet some of her more rural fans. Women arrived in their most stylish outfits with the hope of meeting the fashion idol, reported the Pleasanton Weekly.
According to the Mercury News, the line containing Parker’s fans extended through various sections of the store, eventually coming to an end on the sidewalk outside. Customers who were able to purchase the first 300 Lovely gift sets were given the chance to meet Parker and have their perfume bottles signed. They were surrounded by people taking pictures of the star. If that was too impersonal, a limited number of customers were able to enjoy a special champagne brunch with Parker for $400. Afterward, they each walked away with the Lovely gift set as well as complimentary Sex and the City products.
Susan Parker, the store manager, commented on their guest’s gracious behavior, and told the Mercury News that no security problems were reported. “She wasn’t going to leave until she met everyone.” After the event, Sarah stayed at Pleasanton’s own Rose Hotel.
