Troyer’s Sex Tape Finally Under Wraps
20-Jul-2008
Written by: Marshall Burns
Verne Troyer’s sex tape is finally back underground with the newest court ruling.
Verne Troyer just wanted to have a little more say in his sex tape. The actor settled the $20 million lawsuit that was filed last month against TMZ.com, an adult video distributer, as well as celebrity porn broker Kevin Blatt, after a clip of the sex tape Troyer and a former girlfriend had made was posted on the site.
Edwin McPherson, Troyer's attorney, reported Friday that his client never plans to sell any part of the tape, but Blatt and online renter SugarDVD may, if they are granted permission by Troyer before ever further promoting or profiting from the film, reported E! Online.
McPherson said that he will amend the suit Monday in order to include Ranae Shrider, Troyer’s ex, to be among those that must check with the actor before selling the tape. Others may find that they are on that side of the lawsuit to further ensure that the sex tape stays where it is; underground.
After the temporary restraining order that Troyer filed on June 27 to stop the airing or selling of the tape, a federal judge allowed TMZ to put the footage back up after Shrider admitted to leaking the home movie. She was not at all fazed by the indecent exposure, Troyer told E! News this week. He continued by saying that the leaking of the tape was an invasion of privacy that had him fighting hard to get the tape back under wraps.
Troyer told E! News, “Just because people are seeing something that was meant to be between me and her. That’s the biggest reason that I’m, you know, trying to stop the tape from being released. . . . I highly doubt that she thought that would get me back with her. Ransom or something.”
