The Rolling Stones Sign with Universal
The Rolling Stones have signed an "exclusive, long-term, worldwide" record deal with Universal, the BBC reports.
This contract will cover future albums by the band as well as albums from their back catalogue.
In March, the Stones ended their previous deal with EMI after more than 30 years. Shortly after ending their deal with EMI, the band released a live CD, which was recorded in New York in 2006, with Universal in a one-album deal.
A statement released by the Rolling Stones said, "Universal are forward thinking, creative and hands-on music people."
"We really look forward to working with them."
Future albums will be released through Universal's Polydor label.
A statement from Universal said it was planning "an unprecedented, long-term campaign to reposition the Rolling Stones' entire catalogue for the digital age."
