Cheech and Chong: Light Up America . . . to Tour 22 Cities

After their split 25 years ago, comedians Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong will reunite for a 22 city tour starting this September.

According to Reuters, the stoner comedy team of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong revealed plans on Wednesday for their first comedy tour in more than 25 years since their bitter split.

Their tour entitled "Cheech & Chong: Light Up America . . ." will visit 22 cities in the United States, starting with Philadelphia on September 12 and concluding in Denver, Colorado on December 20.

Speaking at the news conference, Chong said, "This is a moment that I've been looking forward to for many, many years because we have such a legacy and history together that we couldn't escape it, even if we tried."

During the 1970s, Cheech and Chong's brand of humor, influenced by marijuana, made them one of the most successful comedy teams. Together they produced several hit movies and records that soared to the top of the charts. In 1973, the duo won a Grammy award for best comedy album for their record, Los Cochinos.
