Obama's Campaign Calls Ludacris's Song "Outrageously Offensive"

Obama's camp condemned a song written by rapper Ludacris that criticizes Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and refers to President Bush as "mentally handicapped."

According to the Associated Press, Barack Obama's campaign has called a song by Ludacris, which criticizes Obama's opponents, "outrageously offensive."

"Politics as Usual" insults both Hillary Clinton and John McCain and refers to President Bush as "mentally handicapped."

Obama's spokesman Bill Burton said, "Ludacris is a talented individual but he should be ashamed of these lyrics."

Burton continued, "As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to."

Ludacris's publicist has declined to comment.

"Politics as Usual" uses a misogynistic term to describe Clinton and urged Obama against appointing her as his running mate.

In the song, Ludacris says that McCain, the presumptive Republican candidate for the presidency, does not belong in "any chair unless he's paralyzed."

The song urges African-Americans to vote in the upcoming election and lends the rapper's support to Obama.
