Jessica Simpson Talks Love and Loves Lost

Jessica reveals it’s her exes that helped inspire her new album.
It’s no secret that Jessica Simpson radiates with happiness over her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo. But in an interview with Elle Magazine, Simpson revealed that she finds inspiration for her music from her exes.
According to the Daily News, Simpson told Elle Magazine that she was deeply hurt after her divorce from Nick Lachey. “I didn't try anything to change my life other than dating different types of guys and conforming to their worlds. I thought I had to be artsier, more intellectual.”
And so it started: a string of relationships, a string of exes, and a lot of inspiration.
Simpson revealed that her song, “Remember That,” on her new album, Do You Know, reflects her experience of being in an abusive relationship with an unnamed ex, according to the Daily News.
Simpson also spoke about her one-year relationship with ex John Mayer. “He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else,” she said in her interview with Elle.
As for her current love, Tony Romo, Simpson said he is the first person she feels “spiritually connected with.” Go Romo!
