NBC Hires Russert's Son
There will be a Russert covering the upcoming election after all.
Luke Russert, son of the late Tim Russert, has been hired by NBC as a correspondent.
Luke's first assignment will be at the Democratic National Convention in Denver at the end of this month. His second will be covering the Republican National Convention in late September in St. Paul, Minn.
NBC, the network for which Tim Russert hosted Meet the Press and served as the Washington Bureau Chief, said that Luke will focus on youth issues.
"Never before in an election cycle has so much attention turned to the youth vote, and Luke will bring a unique perspective to convering it," President of NBC News, Steve Capus, said in a statement Thursday.
