Jessica Simpson writes a song about abuse.
“With You” singer Jessica Simpson has just revealed that a song on her country album, Do You Know, about an abusive relationship, is based on her own experiences.
In her new song, “Remember That,” Simpson sings, “With his hands or with his words/you don’t deserve it.” In the upcoming issue of Elle magazine, she discusses how she was inspired by her past.
“I know that I sing it with experience,” Simpson says, according to China Daily. “I don’t want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run.”
Although Simpson refused to go into more detail after her startling confession, previous interviews reveal that she used to be viciously bullied.
