Michelle Yeoh has shown her acting prowess in the movie, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor."

Michelle Yeoh has joined the cast in the new movie, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. According to Reuters, she not only brought a strong emotional performance, but she kicked major but in the film.

The actress stars in the movie which just opened in the U.S. on Friday and becomes the third in the series of hits about Rick O'Connell, played by Brendan Fraser, who seems to always run into power-hungry mummies, reported Retuers.

In this version, Yeoh plays a Chinese sorceress, Zi Yuan, who puts a curse on an ancient emperor who rises from the dead after 2,000 years to seek vengeance. Her character is part of a group of people, including O'Connell, who must put the emperor back into his grave, and uses her wits, poise, and her fists as well, according to Reuters.

Yeoh told Reuters, "It's a small, but important role. She was so much about being one with the world and Mother Nature and there was a certain amount of understanding in her that you could see behind her eyes." Yeoh is one of few in the martial arts world who is able to be an incredible actress as well as let the fists fly and even less who have earned respect doing it.

Reuters reported that the film earned very little when it came to the critics, but Yeoh was seen as one of the bright spots in this movie. Kenneth Turan, a Los Angeles Times critic, said, "Best of all is Michelle Yeoh, who radiates integrity in every role she takes on and who holds our attention as a powerful sorceress."
