Applegate Has Breast Cancer

Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately, the disease has been caught early by an MRI, which might have saved her life.

"Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening," her publicist Ame Van Iden said in a statement on Saturday.

According to the New York Daily News, 26-year-old Applegate is "following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery." Now, Applegate is doing all she can to help raise money for cancer research and will be appearing on ABC, NBC and CBS on a one-hour television special. The special will air on September 5 and is titled, "Stand Up to Cancer."
