The Dark Knight Is Unstoppable

Four Hundred Schmillion.
The Dark Knight is a record breaker if there ever was one. Having already shattered the records for best opening night, as well as best opening weekend in the United States and Canada, the film is seemingly unstoppable.
The Batman movie’s latest achievement comes as it passes the $400 million mark in North America, just 18 days after its release.
The record, previously held by Shrek 2, which took 43 days to pass the $400 million milestone in 2004, was snatched up by The Dark Knight in less than half that time, reported BBC News.
And The Dark Knight doesn’t seem to be losing any of its momentum. Just last week it was announced that the Batman flick had made it over the $300 million line faster than any other movie before it, reported BBC News.
There is only one more record on the horizon for The Dark Knight as it spends its third week at the zenith of the North American box office. The film would have to first surpass $500 million to just catch a glimpse of Titanic, sitting way off in the distance at $600 million.
But unfortunately for the caped crusader, this may not even be a possibility. While Titanic was the most successful film ever in North America, according to BBC News, it used figures unadjusted for inflation. Despite this, at the rate the film is plowing through the North American box office now, there is no telling where its winning streak will end.
