Artie Lange Admits Himself into Rehab
6-Aug-2008
Written by: Justin Zaremba

Artie Lange, the outspoken right-hand man of Howard Stern, has admitted himself into a rehabilitation facility.

According to E! News, Howard Stern’s sidekick, Artie Lange, has admitted himself into an intensive outpatient rehabilitation facility.

A statement released by Lange’s publicist confirmed that Lange is in rehab but did not specify his need for treatment.

News of his treatment follows Lange’s cancellation of several stand-up dates, including an appearance on the Comedy Central roast of Bob Saget.

Lange made headlines last April when a verbal on-air argument with his personal assistant turned physical. As a result, Lange tendered his resignation to the Sirius Satellite Radio show.

Although Stern accepted the resignation, an apologetic Lange was allowed to return to the show later that month with the stipulation being that another similar incident would result in his termination.

Lange is expected to return to the Howard Stern show when it returns from hiatus later this month.
