Clay Aiken Is a Daddy
Clay Aiken and baby-bearing buddy Jaymes Foster can finally call themselves parents, following the birth of son Parker Foster Aiken, reported E! Online.
Aiken immediately updated fans through a post on his Web site: "I'm sure you know . . . I hate putting the cart before the horse," he wrote. "Not my way to tempt fate. But I wanted to stop by, if only for a second, so you could be the first folks I tell . . . HE'S HERE!"
Weighing in at six pounds, 2 ounces, "Parker was born at a hospital in North Carolina just this morning at 8:08 a.m. Wow . . . 8:08 . . . 08/08/08," Aiken continued.
According to E! Online, Aiken and Foster have been friends for years, and while they are not romantically involved, they still plan to raise the child together.
Jaymes Foster, aging somewhere around 50 years, worked on several of Aiken's albums, such as A Thousand Different Ways and On My Way Here, and conceived the 29-year-old's baby through in-vitro fertilization. She is also sister to Grammy winning record producer David Foster
When the American Idol runner-up saw his son for the first time, there was no hiding his joy. And even though Parker Foster Aiken did not inherit his father's red locks, he is apparently happy, healthy and just as loud as his father.
