Spears to Possibly Perform at 2008 VMAs
According to the Associated Press, Britney Spears may be performing at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
An MTV spokesperson said Spears and MTV are working together to plan an appearance on the VMAs, set to air Sept. 7.
The network states nothing has been finalized and the only two confirmed performers are the Jonas Brothers and Lil Wayne.
Spears began appearing in commercials for the ceremony in which she can be seen flirting back and fourth with host Russell Brand.
Spears is looking to make a comeback from her less-than-desirable performance in 2007. Since her meltdown performance, Spears has allegedly cleaned up and made a positive change. Coincidently, her father, James, has been her legal conservator and taken over her personal and professional matters.
Spears has received high marks when she appeared on CBS's How I Met Your Mother earlier in the year. Spears is currently working on a new album.
Negotiations between Spears and the network continue as viewers worldwide prepare for a possible Britney sequel.
