Following the departure of frontman Scott Weiland, Velvet Revolver is still in search of a lead singer.
Lenny Kravitz has come forth and denied rumors that he will be the new Velvet Revolver frontman.
According to ContactMusic.com, the band has been searching for a new lead singer ever since frontman Scott Weiland was sacked earlier this year. Weiland went on to reunite with former band Stone Temple Pilots in April, and the group is currently on tour.
Lenny Kravitz is the latest musician to be associated with the Grammy Award-winning Velvet Revolver, after reportedly rehearsing regularly with the band. Yahoo! Music News reported that Kravitz has repeatedly joined Slash, along with the rest of Revolver, for rehearsals as the band works towards a new album.
According to ContactMusic.com, amongst all possible replacement singers, Kravitz is a favorite, however, despite this, the musician ensures us that the reports are wrong. "I know and love the Velvet Revolver guys but there is no truth to the story about me joining their band," he told Rolling Stone.
Kravitz is scheduled to perform at the V Festival in the United Kingdom this weekend.
