Radiohead to Score "Choke"
According to BBC News, Radiohead will compose the score for the film version of Chuck Palahniuk's fourth novel, Choke, due in September.
Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club, listened to Radiohead throughout his writing of Choke for inspiration.
Knowing that Palahniuk wrote the novel while listening to Radiohead's "Creep" on replay, Clarke Greg, the director of Choke, showed Radiohead the film with the aim of convincing them to write a final song for the film and credits. The band was so taken with the film that they decided to do the entire score.
Choke revolves around sex-addict Victor Mancini, played by Sam Rockwell, who intentionally chokes at expensive restaurants, allows fellow patrons to "save" him, and receives monetary awards from them. Patrons are so overwhelmed by their act of "heroism" that they feel responsible for Mancini's life.
The soundtrack for Fight Club, Palahniuk's debut novel, was provided entirely by the Dust Brothers.
