Degeneres Set to Marry This Weekend

Usmagazine.com is reporting that Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi are planning to marry this weekend in California, Fox News reports.

Reportedly, the pair is planning a very small, intimate ceremony. Only a few very close family members and friends will be invited.



After a ruling by the California Supreme Court that allows same sex couples to legally marry, Degeneres announced that she planned to wed her longtime girlfriend during a taping of her talk show in May.



"It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited," Degeneres, 50, said.



The talk show host told reporters backstage at the Emmy Awards this past June that she and de Rossi, 35, were in the process of planning their "dream wedding."



"Yes, we have set a wedding date," the comedienne said. "How do I feel about it? I obviously feel like it's long overdue. I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous that we don't all have the same rights."



Degeneres gave her fiancee a pink diamond ring for their engagement.



"Planning a wedding is very stressful," she said. "It's crazy. My gardener is now invited."
