Danes to Star in Autism Biopic
HBO is moving forward with a project about Temple Grandin with Mick Jackson set to direct, and actress Claire Danes in negotiations to star.
A leading speaker on autism, Temple Grandin grew up with the disorder and eventually went on to become one of the top scientists in humane livestock handling. Grandin regularly appears on talk shows and was the subject of a BBC documentary.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Danes is expected to portray Grandin from her high school years to her post-academic period.
The script was written by Christopher Monger, and October is expected to be the start date.
Danes' next project is a starring role in Richard Linklater's Me and Orson Welles, which will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.
