Britney Spears Buys New Malibu Home

The recently wed superstar can now honeymoon in the comfort of her own home.

Newlywed couple Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have purchased their first home together in Malibu.

The pop star, who recently sold her homes in New York and California, purchased the eight bedroom estate for a reported $6.9 million. The gated mansion comes complete with tennis courts, as well as its own spa and gym.

"Britney and Kevin have a brand new beautiful home which they are going to be moving into," mom Lynne Spears told fans in a letter on Britney's official website. "Getting their home in order will be Britney's next project."

In the letter, Lynne also addresses the couples recent surprise nuptials. "We were ALL surprised, and that's really saying something because it is very unlike Britney to be able to keep a secret," she said, adding "I couldn't have been happier with how Britney and Kevin chose to do it."
