FX's "The Shield" to End This Fall
FX has announced that the seventh and final season of the critically acclaimed series, The Shield, will air its final episode in November.
The cable drama premiered in March 2002 to exceptional ratings and a good response from critics, paving the way for more well-received shows on the network such as Nip/Tuck and Damages. The series also earned Golden Globes, and an Emmy for Michael Chiklis. That Emmy win made him the first lead actor to win for a basic cable series.
According to Variety, the network has already shot retrospective material of the show as well as a roundtable discussion with the cast and crew, which is to be hosted by Elvis Mitchell.
The final season of The Shield will premiere on FX September 2, with the final episode airing November 25.
