Voight Retaliates Against Roseanne Barr

The actor defends himself after comments made by the comedienne on her blog.

Angelina Jolie's estranged father, Jon Voight, is speaking out about comments made by comedienne Roseanne Barr regarding both he and his daughter, the New York Daily News reports.

Barr had some choice words for Voight and Jolie, attacking their political stances. While Voight openly claims to be a McCain supporter, Jolie has not yet revealed an endorsement to either candidate.

On her blog, Barr had written that the actor "is a frightened little girl in a pink ballet tutu, who acts like Obama just wandered in from the rain forest with a bone thru his nose and a communist pamphlet in his loincloth."

In addition to her harsh claims about Voight, Barr criticized Jolie for not openly supporting Obama. "Do you not know that the African daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the Republican party's worldwide economic assault on Africa over the last few decades since Reagan?" she wrote.

In a written statement to the television entertainment news show, Extra, Voight attacked Barr, calling her "sick of mind" for what she said.

"Her defaming of our National Anthem in 1990 gave us insight into who she is and what she is capable of saying and doing," he explained.

Thus far, there has been no comment from Jolie's camp.
