No Broadway for Dunst
21-Aug-2008
Written by: Angela P. Cobb

Actress fears singing in front of a crowd.

Kirsten Dunst has ruled out a career on Broadway, because despite singing in movies, she’s petrified of singing in front of a live crowd, WENN reports.

When the 26-year-old actress sang in Spider-Man 3, she pre-recorded a song, so that she wouldn’t have to perform in front of the cast and crew. And while she wishes she could get over it, that fear of singing live has made her forget any aspirations of Broadway.

“Singing in the movie was fun,” recalls Dunst, “because I got to record the song, and then I lip-synched to my own voice because I'm scared to sing in front of people in real life.”

Dunst enjoys singing and music . . . just not in front of people. “I don't have it in me. I'd do it but not professionally or anything like that. I mean, not on a Broadway stage, that's for sure,” she admits.
