Beard Disses Phelps Harshly in Response to Romance Rumors

On a recent broadcast of the John Jay and Rich Radio Show, former Olympic gold medal swimmer and Playboy cover girl Amanda Beard was asked if she has ever been romantically linked to the most talked about man in the world and winner of eight gold medals in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, swimmer Michael Phelps.

Beard not only strongly denied having had any romantic ties with Phelps but also managed to diss him harshly in the process.

Upon further interrogation after she had stated that the two had never kissed or held hands, Beard responded by saying, "Come on, come on, come on! I have really good taste!"

Her conceited responses to the radio hosts' questions have been met with widespread criticism amongst many in the media who have raced to the defense of the record-breaking Phelps, particularly on CNN's Showbiz Tonight.

In an interview with People Magazine, Beard later claimed that she was just joking around and that she viewed Phelps like a brother.

Phelps, the headliner of the 2008 Summer Olympics, has made no secret of how much he was picked on and ridiculed by classmates as a child and how he has overcome hurtful remarks from his past to become the most decorated Olympian in history.
