Jack White Makes Another Appearance at Reading Festival with Other Band
23-Aug-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril
This time, White was with his other band, The Raconteurs.
Jack White, who is well-known for being one-half of The White Stripes (along with Meg White, who was formerly Jack's fiancée for those looking for some background on the band), made his fourth appearance at England's Reading Festival Saturday. But this time, it wasn't with the popular White Stripes, it was with his other band, The Raconteurs.
The Raconteurs are relatively unknown in the United States, but extremely successful/popular in Europe. They did, however, recently play at one of the larger stages at Lollapalooza in the beginning of August in Chicago's Grant Park. So their presence in the States seems to be growing.
White had played at Reading Festival in 2002, when The White Stripes and the band's songlist were still relatively unknown.
In 2003, The White Stripes had to cancel because of an injury. In 2004, they headlined the three-day festival.
Two years later, White returned to headline the NME/Radio 1 Stage with The Raconteurs.
And finally, there was Saturday night, when White returned again with The Raconteurs.
They played:
“Consoler of the Lonely”
“Hold Up”
“You Don't Understand Me”
“Top Yourself”
“Old Enough”
“Level”
“Steady, As She Goes”
“Many Shades of Black”
“Broken Boy Soldier”
“Salute Your Solution”
