A New Led Zeppelin Album?

A new Led Zeppelin album may be "on the cards."

After what feels like an eternity, rock icons Led Zeppelin are working together on what just might be a new album.

Band members Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham, son of the late Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, have been making their way back into the studio for jam sessions, reported BBC News. Bonham recently told a Detroit radio station that the songs might find their way onto a new Led Zeppelin album.

The band's most recent activity came in the form of a one-time reunion show at London's O2 Arena in December last year. The show lasted two hours, opening with "Good Times Bad Times," the opening track on the band's debut album, and drew in nearly 20,000 fans, an indication of fans' undying loyalty to the band that provided the soundtrack to a generation.

And according to Bonham, more is yet to come. He told 94.7 WCSX that fresh material has been "on the cards" since the London show, where he debuted as the band's new drummer, reported BBC News.

"At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material," he said. "When I get there (in the studio), I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it."

However, Led Zeppelin fans will be sad to hear that Robert Plant has yet to show up for the jam sessions, and his involvement in a possible new album is currently non-existent.

"Lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out [before an album could be made]," Bonham said. "Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It's my life. It's what I've dreamed about doing."

While the notion of a Led Zeppelin reunion is overwhelming for many, some may prefer to remember the band the way it was back in its glory days, with all four original members. Could this be the reason for the singer's hesitation to reunite?
