Neil Diamond Apologizes and Offers Fans a Refund
28-Aug-2008
Written by: Jessica McCumber

Reportedly, he was diagnosed with laryngitis.

According to Reuters, Neil Diamond is now offering both an apology and a refund to an audience of a recent show in Ohio, after the performance was less then stellar due to a raspy voice brought on by laryngitis.

A statement released on the singer's Web site Tuesday was very heartfelt, using lyrics from Diamond’s song “Play me.” "Dear Fans in Columbus, I haven't let you down before and I won't let you down now, Until you hear from me again remember, You are the sun, I am the moon. You are the words. I am the tune. Forgive me. I love you.”

A spokeswoman for the singer said, via a statement, that Ohio fans in attendance of the concert will be able to receive a refund of their ticket as long as they move to do so before September 5.

It may make Ohio fans feel better to know that they were not the only ones upset by the diagnosis of laryngitis. Concerts in Green Bay, Wisconsin and St. Louis, Missouri had to be canceled as well and rescheduled for September when Diamond will hopefully be better.
