Jack Osbourne Making Documentary

Osbourne son sets out to make an “honest” documentary about his father.

Jack Osbourne, son of former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, has told Rolling Stone that he is currently producing a new documentary about his father.

The 22-year-old Osbourne explained that MTV’s The Osbournes may have made stars of him, his sister Kelly and their mother Sharon, but it was not true to the image of the real star of the show, Ozzy, reported BBC News.

“I think The Osbournes, to a degree, tarnished the public's perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy. My dad can be that guy, but it's not him. I think that almost discredited who he is as an artist,” Jack said, adding, “He's nothing short of a genius.”

According to BBC News, the young producer is trying to portray his 60-year-old father in as honest a light as possible, considering titles such as “John,” his father’s real name, however, he admits that persuading friends and family to share their real feelings about Ozzy might be easier said than done.

“[Ozzy] does have huge flaws, and we're trying to really paint an honest picture of that,” he said. “The hard thing is getting people to be honest and not have it be a fluff piece, because that's not what we're trying to do.”

The documentary is also expected to include interviews with all the main members of Black Sabbath.

Watch out for a preview of Jack’s documentary at next year’s Ozzfest.
