Pacman Reinstated for Opener
28-Aug-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril
The troubled cornerback currently plays on the Cowboys' team, where he’s seemingly turned himself around.
Oftentimes, ESPN and many other news organizations spend way too much time following the saga that is the life of Adam "Pacman" Jones.
But here's the first real news in a while that has to do with the Pacman.
He has, according to ESPN's Ed Werder, been reinstated by the league for the Cowboys' regular-season opener against Cleveland.
The NFL is expected to make the official announcement late Thursday.
Jones has been on his best behavior of late, which was important to getting back into the league. At the culmination of his good behavior, Jones sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell asking for his reinstatement, earlier this month.
The reason for Jones's suspension from the league was that he was arrested 6 times and had been involved in 12 incidents that required police investigations since being drafted.
Of course, Jones was never convicted in any of those cases, but the NFL seems to be policed by its own set of rules.
But the basic news of the story is that Pacman is back, and he will likely be either the third or second cornerback for the Cowboys.
