Hilary Duff’s Dad Going to Jail

This seems to be a common theme among the fathers of young actresses.
A judge has ruled that the father of singer/actress Hilary Duff must spend 10 days in jail for contempt of court.
Bob Duff left his court hearing Wednesday in handcuffs, after Judge Thomas Stansbury in Houston said that Duff violated an injuction against selling his personal assets while not seeking approval from the court.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Duff must pay the court $367,537, which is money that came from him selling stocks in July.
Duff's attorney, Robert Piro, said that his client will post bond and appeal Judge Stansbury's decision.
Stansbury also said that Duff must pay his soon-to-be ex-wife $12,500 for Hilary's birthday party, while Susan Duff wanted $25,000 to pay for her child's party and present.
The birthday party involving Hilary Duff (who was not in court) was the subject of the hearing.
