Steve Jobs Died Today - Well, Not Really
For a short while today, Bloomberg media company had an electronic goof that accidentally posted the obituary of cancer-stricken Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
Of course, it was wrong. Jobs is still alive. But after someone sent the obit to Gawker gossip blog, Bloomberg is looking awfully stupid.
The file, which can be seen on Gawker.com, discusses the innovations Jobs made, and also goes on to mention a number of other people that one should contact for the more extensive story about the, in theory, dead CEO.
Among this list are Apple's co-founder Steve Wozniak, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, and Guy Kawasaki, who was one of Apple's biggest supporters early on.
Though Jobs has not died yet, he seems to have led a fairly prolific life.
According to the obit, he "helped make personal computers as easy to use as telephones, changed the way animated films are made, persuaded consumers to tune into digital music, and refashioned the mobile phone."
Hopefully, before the real date comes, Jobs adds a few more things to that list.
