The Beatle will be featured in a full-length biopic.
Nowhere Boy, a biopic about the life of John Lennon, is on the cards and expected to eventually make its way to the big screen.
Directed by visual artist Sam Taylor-Wood, produced by Ecosse Films and penned by Control screenwriter Matt Greenhalgh, Nowhere Boy will center on the icon’s life, starting with his childhood and following the Beatle as he evolves into one of the greatest musicians of our time, reported the Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which will be shot on location in Lennon’s hometown of Liverpool, will provide insight into Lennon’s early life, following the lonely teenager as he is constantly fought over by his aunt and the mother who gave him up.
According to THR, Nowhere Boy unveils some of Lennon’s biggest inspirations, ranging from his relationship with Paul McCartney to the Beatle’s various female companions.
"The women in John's early life truly shaped who he became," Taylor-Wood said, "and the strengths and weaknesses of their relationships are central to this film."
The project, which is being co-developed with the United Kingdom Film Council, is underway, with casting already in progress. HanWay Films will handle worldwide sales.
Ecosse and HanWay have also collaborated on Becoming Jane and Brideshead Revisited.
