Cure Album Slated for an October Release
This summer has been one of immense anticipation with iconic bands like Guns N' Roses, Metallica and The Verve all releasing new, and long-anticipated material. Adding to that list is The Cure, whose severely overdue album, 4:13 Dream, has been expected to drop since summer 2007.
Finally, the band has announced a release date for Dream, picking October 14 as the date to look forward to, reported the Hollywood Reporter. Over the last four months, the group has released a new single on the 13th day of every month, proving that the material does in fact exist.
The singles include "The Only One," "Freakshow," "Sleep When I'm Dead" and "The Perfect Boy," all of which will be subject to remix on a forthcoming EP titled Hypnagogic States. According to THR, 30 Seconds to Mars, Jade Puget (AFI), Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance), Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), and 65 Days of Static are handling the remixes, with proceeds being donated to the Red Cross.
All that's left to do now is put the actual album together. "I've gone through so many revisions, probably more than all of the other records put together," frontman Robert Smith said.
The album, 4:13 Dream, will be released through Suretone/Geffen on October 14.
