Johnny Depp Rocks Pompano Beach
It may be odd to find award winning actor Johnny Depp rocking out at Pompano Beach, Fla. Friday night, rather than acting.
Depp played a 90-minute set with his bandmates from The Kids, which was a power pop group started in 1978, when Depp was a high school student in south Florida.
According to People Magazine, Depp's girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, and their 9-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose, were watching their man perform from their box seats. Their son, Jack, 6, was not at the show.
Last year, Depp reunited with the band to perform at a similar event to honor their manager, Sheila Witkin. Proceeds from the event went to the Dan Marino Foundation.
The Dan Marino Foundation is set up to help children with special needs, including the Marino Autism Research Institute. Marino's 17-year-old son, Michael, is autistic.
Depp was seen onstage performing at Club Cinema in a torn up, blue T-shirt, torn jeans, and a flannel shirt tied around his waist. Depp was the lead guitarist and sang background vocals on some of their original tunes, as well as classics such as The Ronettes' "Be My Baby."
