Michael Phelps: America's Eligible Bachelor
Michael Phelps just may be America's most eligible bachelor; having 14 olympic medals doesn't hurt, either.
According to People Magazine, Phelps is embracing the single life and tells People, "I don't feel any different. I'm just having fun with this."
There were rumors that Phelps has a relationship with Nicole Johnson, a former Miss California USA runner-up. Phelps tells People, "I never said I have a girlfriend, and I never said I don't have a girlfriend. My public and private life are separate. I keep my private life to myself."
Johnson tells reporters that she and Phelps are "good friends."
Phelps did open up about bizarre encounters with female fans.
Phelps noted that one of the girls in a crowd full of people held up a neon green sign that read, "Congratulations, Michael," and on the reverse it said, "call me" alongside her phone number.
Phelps is bound to attract more female fans as he hosts the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on Sept. 13.
"It's going to be really strange, but fun. We'll see if I really am a fish out of water and if I have a comedic side to me. All of my friends are giving me a hard time about it and saying I better not mess up and better not do this or do that," Phelps said.
Phelps will be able to add acting to his resume as he is featured in a cameo appearance on the HBO hit series, Entourage.
