Palahniuk Novels Jump to Film
Chuck Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club and Choke, confirmed that casting is underway for his novel, Lullaby.
Lullaby is a supernatural tale that follows a journalist who is attempting to destroy all copies of a song from a book of children's lullabies. The song, which is known as a culling song, kills whomever listens to it.
Palahniuk said that a Scandinavian director, whom he referred to as "the Swedish David Fincher," was attached to direct.
In addition to Lullaby, the author has several other pokers in the fire; Francis Lawrence is attached to direct Survivor and, according to Palahniuk's official Web site, Rant has just been optioned.
However, not all of Palahniuk's novels are expected to make it to the big screen. Specifically, Snuff, the story of a porn star who attempts to break the world record by having sex with 600 men on camera, is not expected to make it to theaters any time soon.
Choke, which stars Sam Rockwell and Anjelica Huston, is scheduled to be released on September 26.
