Jennie Garth: “I Had Six Months of Hell”
4-Sep-2008
Written by: Joe Thomas

Jennie Garth’s body is the least of her worries as she endures six months of hell.

While Jennie Garth may be playing the stylish diva Kelly Taylor on the new 90210 show, she has been through a lot in the past six months.

The 36-year-old actress tells PEOPLE magazine that “I had this six months of hell, I had a sick daughter and then my father passed away, so there was a six month period in my life when I didn't think about my looks or my weight or my body or anything."

Garth was just off the stage of Dancing with the Stars, enduring eight hour a day practices and extensive body toning. She faced every mother’s worst nightmare.

Her 5 year old daughter, Lola, "got very sick and we didn't know what was wrong with her. I was basically locked in a closet with her for three months,” said Garth, who has three children with her husband Peter Facinelli.

Garth’s body was the last thing on her mind. "I didn't exercise or eat healthy. I had been a 27 in my jeans after Dancing With the Stars and I was so excited. But it really went back quickly. I definitely gained inches and a size."

Doctors were able to diagnose the cause of Lola’s sickness.

"It turned out to be a form of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and we treated her and it's in remission. It was tough, but she's better now."
