Britney and Christina Together Again

The former rivals will join together on the stage for the VMAs.
Years ago in the late '90s, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera rivaled one another for the top spot in pop, after airing together on the Mickey Mouse Club. Despite their fight to be the best at the height of their fame and swapping spit with Madonna at the 2003 VMAs, the pair will be sharing a stage once again.
The former pop rivals will share the stage at the 25th anniversary of the MTV Video Music Awards. After Spears’s performance last year, where the “Piece of Me” singer scraped and lip-synched her way through her performance, most would not expect the singer to give the stage another try. However, the 16-time nominee, Spears, is said to be “excited.” “MTV has played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?” Spears said. Although the singer has been nominated numerous times for an award at the show, this year she has a good chance of finally winning with nominations in Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year categories, all for her single, “Piece of Me.” Will appearing with Aguilera this year help her chances?
