Eva Mendes has difficulty coping with success.
Actress, Eva Mendes, who checked herself into rehab this past year for unknown reasons, has revealed that learning to cope with success was one of her big problems. The 34-year-old beauty describes her troubles with being successful, saying, "Up until recently, I was really uncomfortable with having success and enjoying it. I just couldn't deal with that. How can I have so much? It's not fair. How can the world have so little?'' E! Online quoted Mendes saying.
"I allowed it to mess with me in the sense that I just didn’t know how to handle it," the actress says. "I've really broken it down to this simple thing: I deal with everything by giving it away. It's genius. It works." Mendes has literally been giving her things away, like her new pair of Cartier sunglasses. When an elderly friend of hers tried them on momentarily, Mendes insisted that the friend should keep them and said, "You need to have them. They look really good on you."
In order to deal with her success, Mendes has also been continuously attending therapy sessions, which play a huge role in helping her to cope. The actress reveals, "I've always said I love talking about therapy, because there's nothing wrong with it. Why wait until something goes terrible in your life to start fixing things?"
