Lauren Conrad to Be an Author

First reality TV star, then fashion designer and now Lauren Conrad will be adding author to her resume.

As the Daily News reports, The Hills star has just signed a three book contract with book publisher HarperCollins. Her novels are supposed to be about a girl her age who goes from anonymity to celebrity status- a story much like her own.

"I've always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to," said LC. "I'm so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers."

According to the Senior VP/Associate Publisher of Fiction for HarperCollins Children's Books, Elise Howard, the series will be a blockbuster.

"I've never seen a new project generate noise like the instant buzz that swept through our offices around this deal," she said. "'The Hills' and Lauren Conrad are household names among our staff, and their popularity is even higher among the teens who are our readers."

LC is in the process of writing her first book now.
