The historic venue is back, this time in the form of a shiny new DVD.

The Fillmore West, San Francisco's legendary concert venue that closed down almost 40 years ago, will come back to life once more through the medium of DVD.

The film, Fillmore: Last Days, was originally released through Rhino in 1972, but will make the jump to the digital medium this fall. The documentary, which is currently set for a Nov. 11 release, is chock full of nostalgic footage that includes 1971's memorable five-day summer send-off concert with performances by the Grateful Dead, Santana, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Airplane, Boz Scaggs, Cold Blood, Hot Tuna, and Lamb, reported the Hollywood Reporter.

Those unfamiliar with the Fillmore will appreciate the documentary's informative history, which goes right back to the venue's founder, Bill Graham, spotlighting various other influential personalities along the way, such as the venue's unforgettable house band, Moonalice. According to THR, the DVD will also pay tribute to the likes of Ray Manzarek, Elvin Bishop and Dan Hicks, all of whom lent their talents to the historic venue.

Check out the Fillmore: Last Days screening at San Francisco's Mill Valley Film Festival on Oct. 3.
